Who We Are……

The UNC Health Care at WakeBrook Alcohol and Drug Detoxification Unit (ADU) is a comprehensive community-based residential treatment program that provides medical detoxification treatment for Wake County residents affected by substance use disorders. All services are provided by professionally trained licensed medical and clinical staff.

What We Do……

Our program is designed for adults residing in Wake County and provides for psychiatric assessment and medication management, substance abuse withdrawal management, nursing therapy, individual/group therapies, family support, and case management to link patients to community services following discharge. This is accomplished through the following complement of services: medically-monitored detox, mental health services, medication consultation, relapse prevention tools, sustained recovery skills, supportive employment resources, recreational therapy, nutritional consultation, in-house support meetings, individual counseling, continuity of care referrals, family education, and visitation.
