The UNC Hospitals Radiation Oncology Clinic provides radiation oncology services for cancer patients, based on a strong tradition of leadership, teaching, and clinical innovation in the field. We have pioneered ways to focus radiation on the tumor, minimizing risks to the surrounding normal organs. We have an active research team and strive to translate advances from the laboratory to the clinic to benefit our patients. This reflects our continuing commitment to state of the art patient care and to the training of the next generation of radiation oncologists and other radiotherapy professionals. Our department has developed innovative programs for quality improvement and patient safety. We offer the following services: External Beam Radiation Therapy, Intensity-Modulated and Image-Guided Radiation Therapy, TomoTherapy®, CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery, and Brachytherapy. We welcome patients from throughout the state and beyond.
The Department of Radiation Oncology is located on the Manning Level of the N.C. Cancer Hospital.
